The published syllabus is based on the law as at the 1 January preceding the examination.

However, candidates are expected to have knowledge of, and apply, amendments to the law, including any rule changes, enacted before the 1 June preceding the examination and case law published up to that date.

Candidates will not be penalised for basing their answers on any amendments to the law enacted after the 1 June or any case law published after that date. However, candidates must be consistent in their application of any recent changes in the law.

Candidates should check the JEB web site for any guidance notes regarding the application of law changes and case law appearing after 1 January.

The Trade Mark finals paper syllabi have been reworded to clarify the content and scope of the information required and the skills needed by a candidate to pass the papers. There is no substantive change to the content of the syllabi.
